Job Description



  • Lead Fire Engineering Projects - Manage and oversee fire safety engineering solutions for complex projects across various industries, ensuring compliance with regulations.


  • Conduct Fire Risk Assessments - Perform comprehensive fire risk evaluations, including quantitative risk assessments (QRA) and special hazard assessments.


  • Provide Technical Expertise - Offer advanced fire safety engineering insights, including CFD/FDS modelling, fire protection strategies, and performance-based designs.


  • Project & Stakeholder Management - Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.


  • Prepare Reports & Approvals - Author and review detailed fire engineering reports, sign off on technical assessments, and present findings to clients.


  • Mentor & Develop Teams - Support and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth and knowledge-sharing within the fire safety team.


  • Ensure Compliance & Best Practices - Uphold fire safety standards, contribute to quality assurance processes, and improve internal risk management frameworks.


  • Support Business Development - Contribute to fee proposals, identify new opportunities, and assist in developing fire engineering services within the consultancy.



The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have:



  1. Relevant Qualifications - A degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with professional membership (e.g., Engineers Australia).


  2. Industry Experience - Strong background in fire engineering within a consulting environment, with expertise in infrastructure, data centers, or industrial facilities.


  3. Technical Expertise - Proficiency in fire risk assessments, Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA), special hazard evaluations, and CFD/FDS fire modelling.


  4. Project Leadership - Ability to lead and manage fire engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery, compliance, and high-quality outcomes.


  5. Stakeholder Engagement - Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory bodies.


  6. Mentorship & Development - Experience in mentoring junior engineers, sharing knowledge, and fostering team growth.


  7. Regulatory Knowledge - In-depth understanding of fire safety codes, standards, and best practices within Australia.


  8. Problem-Solving Skills - A proactive and analytical approach to developing innovative fire safety solutions for complex projects.
