PageGroup is pleased to announce it has achieved Gold Tier (Small Employer) status at the 2020 Australian LGBTQ Inclusion Awards, the country’s leading annual celebration of LGBTQ workplace inclusion.
The awards are based on the results of the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI), a rigorous and evidence-based benchmarking tool that annually assesses workplaces in the progress and impact of LGBTQ inclusion initiatives.
Matthew Gribble, Regional Managing Director of PageGroup ANZ said: “We are incredibly pleased to have achieved Gold Tier (Small Employer) status at this year’s LGBTQ Inclusion Awards. The award reflects the commitment by everyone at PageGroup to continually strengthen our progress in the area of LGBTI+ workplace diversity and inclusion.
“To achieve Gold tier status in the AWEI allows us to track our progress, benchmark ourselves against other organisations, and provide a means by which our employees can have a say.
“We aim to provide support and promote equity to all PageGroup staff, our candidates and clients, and the LGBTI+ community. Ultimately, we want to ensure we can create a culture in which everyone is comfortable bringing their whole self to work, as well as promoting a workplace culture that respects all diversity and is equally inclusive,” Gribble added.
“Our ANZ Pride@Page Committee – made up of members of the LGBTI+ community, allies and role models – also continues to endorse our company’s policies of diversity and inclusion, specifically those related to LGBTI+ employees.”
PageGroup has gender-neutral policies including parental leave, and provides training for its recruitment consultants on inclusive recruitment processes. The most recent training workshop was delivered by Pride in Diversity, of which PageGroup was the first recruitment firm to join as a member.
Rani Nandan, Senior Regional Human Resources Manager at PageGroup ANZ said: “At PageGroup we’re in a unique position to change lives and improve a sense of belonging for our own employees, and also thousands of candidates and clients across Australia.
“We’re very thankful for the ongoing advice, support and advocacy provided by Pride in Diversity and look forward to constantly reviewing and improving our inclusion efforts.”
Dawn Hough, Director of ACON’s Pride Inclusion Programs said she was excited to share the results of the indices and the wonderful achievements of various organisations in LGBTQ inclusion.
“This year marks an important milestone for the AWEI, as it celebrates its 10th anniversary. Over the past decade, we have seen incredible advancements in workplace diversity and inclusion. As we progress further, it remains critical that not only efforts are acknowledged and congratulated but pressure continues to be applied to maintain and build upon what has been achieved,” Hough said.
PageGroup was classified as a Gold tier employer along with six other small employers, while 15 large employers were also awarded Gold status for 2020.
